The Brazilian economy is the biggest in Latin
America, with enormous growth potential. In a
country with a young population and a higher
than average population growth rate, there is no
shortage of local employees. Unemployment is
concentrated on the low-skilled end of the
market. Foreign nationals still manage to find
jobs because the Brazilian workforce is mostly
semi-skilled or unskilled. Applicants with
management or technical skills are highly sought
after. Employers are looking for people with
specific skills, including fluency in English or
Spanish, computer literacy and experience in the
job market. Work experience is also highly
valued.
There are no national newspapers in Brazil so job advertisements
related to specific areas. The main newspapers in Rio
de Janeiro are Jornal do Brasil, O Globo and Jornal do
Comercia. In Sao Paulo, look out for Folha de Sao Paulo,
Jornal de Tarde and Gazeta Mercantil. you can look at

Teaching English as a foreign language is a growth area
and native English speakers at all levels are in high
demand. English is the language of business as well as
the main foreign language taught in secondary schools.
There are private language schools in the major Brazilian
cities. The
